Timeline Changes | PvP Plans | General Transparency Post

Hello My Fellow Runique Knights.

A smaller update for this week, but felt it was still important enough to share.

 

First off we've got a slight change to our timelines. Given the recent poll results https://forum.runique.org/index.php?/topic/713-raids-dungeoneering-or-both/ we decided to prioritize Raids over Dungeoneering and I am excited to say we are making some GREAT progress! We'll be keeping this updated as best to our ability to give you guys the most accurate timeline for the release. We are shooting for a pre-christmas release as a little gift to you guys and we are currently on-pace for that but as always we cannot promise that. With that said, Dungeoneering will be slotted for after raids and we are expecting that to be complete late in January.

 

Secondly there is a small PvP Change right around the corner that I'm sure you guys will enjoy. I made a suggestion awhile back here: https://forum.runique.org/index.php?/topic/673-scale-caskets/ and we decided to implement that recently and in doing so we had an idea, and that was to put large caskets as drops for the wilderness boss and some of the higher level revenents. In doing this we hope to bring more people out to the wilderness as these casket drops will contain about 30% more gold than the traditional caskets. Third and final update; We have received and increase of reports regarding client crashing, freezing, and general performance issues. We have some good news regarding this; Upon digging through the code with tons of time poured into debugging Jonny was able to pinpoint a few potential issues, and unfortunately a lot of it had to do with the recent client dev that was let go regarding the discord updates. Given what we've found we decided the best course of action was to remove most of the discord updates that were done. On the next release it will no longer show the location you are at, what skill your training, or when you are sitting on the login screen. It will still say "Playing Runique" though. We realize that most of you won't be affected by this cause frankly who cares, as long as you can see who is playing right? If we have a lot of pushback on the discord updates we can rethink adding those in but for now those will be removed. There are a few other client related bugs regarding performance and we are actively working on these.

The PvP implementations sound intriguing. Particularly interested to see how effective they turn out to be.
